Absolutely not. Power Fist welcomes total beginners. Our coaches are experienced in working with people who have never thrown a punch before. You will start with the fundamentals — stance, guard, basic combinations — in a safe and encouraging environment. Many of our best athletes started with zero experience.
For your first visit, just bring comfortable athletic wear and training shoes. You do not need to own boxing gloves or hand wraps right away — we can guide you on what to purchase when you decide to commit. As you progress, you will want your own gloves, hand wraps, and mouthguard. Sparring participants also need headgear and body protectors.
